Amanda as been practicing amateur photography and art for the last 10 years. She has chosen flowers from her garden to express her inner self. More recently, she has experimented with pastels on construction paper using abstract composition. She continues to express herself in writing, dance and art.
I like to paint natural light and shadows, which creates visual impact. Birds, animals and children in the natural surroundings is something that adds life to my paintings. I am always in search of shapes and colors that gives feeling of joy.
While studying applied art, I learned Illustrations. I have worked as a Graphic Designer in India and Canada. Being a commercial artist did not stop me from doing Masters in Fine Arts where I actually started experimenting with variety of mediums like Water, Acrylics, Pastels and Clay.
This theme show "Reflections" is showcase of paintings done in watercolour and acrylics. This show is series of paintings of boats, marina and nearby area. I hope the viewer experiences joy of visualizing these beautiful outdoor spaces as they see my paintings. Working outdoor for these paintings gave me feeling of being one with nature and getting immediate feedback and appreciation from people. This feedback gave me positive vibes, which encouraged me to create better art.
Janice loves all art, but her passion is in watercolour paintings. Her paintings usually start with an idea, from architecture to landscapes.
Currently living in Mississauga, Janice was born and raised in Weston, North York, Ontario. She started painting at about the age of 20. Janice has always been interested in art, but became serious about watercolour painting about 35 years ago.
Janice has participated in two juried art shows at the Franklin Carmichael Art Center in Etobicoke. She received two Honorable Mention awards. First in 1998 for her piece titled "Duffy's Lane", and in the year 2000 for "Winter Returns".
Janice has also participated in two art exhibitions with a group of watercolour painters from the Franklin Carmichael Art Center at the Toronto Library and the Montgomery Inn in Toronto.

I started painting as a hobby. I have always been interested in painting as I used to enjoy watercolour painting when I was in school where I obtained a GCE O level in Art. Then only two years ago, I started painting as hobby. At first, I made some acrylic paintings and took some guidance from the seniors centre. Then I took few lessons from Kelly McNeil and started doing oil paintings. I like to paint flowers and landscapes.
I am not limited to produce art about one subject or another. Observation is another piece of inspiration. Observe, restore and then produce it in a creative way.
I am a self-taught artist, and my works include Water colors, Oil and Ink. I rarely use mix mediums.
My work tends to be of anything which I start with an objective to result in a feel good factor when it finishes. I am the first critique of my work and if I am not satisfied, it is not out for others.
Since my childhood, Drawing and Painting has been a passion for me. Some of my subject matters include but not limited to Landscapes, Animals, flowers etc.
I have refined my work and evolved over time. People ask for the inspiration and thought process behind a painting but there is none to explain. I produce work according to the image and observation in my mind. Different people perceive the same thing differently. There is nothing right or wrong. From an artist point of view, if you produce something the way you wanted to be is what count success and it speaks for itself. That is the only motivation to carry on with your next endeavors.
My influences are everything I see, feel and experience in my day to day life.
